I just found out AoC has it so if you're standing between a ranged dps and their target, if they cast at the target, it hits you. If you MOVE there after the cast is off, then it will go through you. But still. Hearing that made me decide to roll a tank. If WAR's collision detection works with cutting off attacks and being a meatshield against more than just melee, I might do a tank in WAR too. Otherwise, I dunno. Reading Gotrek & Felix really has me in the mood to play a chosen too. So I might be playin a tank specced to dmg soak also. As far as "OMG who's gonna hold the banner?!?" It's one of those things that just really feels like a waste of time to talk about right now til we actually know just how they work. What they do and don't let you do while you're holding it. How the stealing it mechanic works... all that stuff. Maybe you can't get your stats from your shield with a banner, so some tanks would lose a lot of their dmg mitigation then. Maybe stealing the banner doesn't involve actually killing the holder... so tanks wouldn't be as good if they aren't mobile. Maybe there's a class dependent dmg multiplier tied to the knockback that would make it do more dmg and be better for a dps class to hold... I mean really... who knows. Not worth the time to bicker about it. Then again.. what else are we gonna talk about at this point in the development cycle after the latest pushback. WTB guild beta invite.

wait? wut? Posts: 370 Group: Umbrella Agent Member #38 Joined: January 20, 2008	I don't know about that guys...I think a high skilled "DPS" person should have the honors and this is the reason why...after ranking up as the standard bearer you will gain the ability to plant it in the ground and have free rain with your abilities.... So i think it should be a ranged dps class since they can sit back with the flag and still pew pew without wasting a tank which should be on the front lines making the enemy have a difficult time reaching it....just my opinion.

If you go range dps they will have to be on the move at all times to break the los problems caused by the frontline fighting. I must admit that it is a tad bit early to be discussing who will carry the flag. No matter who carries it we will have it back in our keep along with all the other guilds banners we capture.
