i really wanted to roll a choosen from the start from everything that akilleys kept showing me. But after seeing alot of the different classes offered my thoughts have changed.... i think i will have to at least start a Zealot just because of the group benifits and the trouble they can cause inside of an opposing army. I think that i will also be trying an alt off the start of one of the dark elf classes not sure but i am leaning toward witch elf. I believe this holds my interest for similar reasons as the Zealot, causing chaos in the enemy formation ( if they even have one) and doing on of the witch elf's very fast attacks on a flank then using an almost teleporting move away to cause confusion and mayhem.

For those playing CHosen...you better hope you can macro or be reallly good at button mashing :)

It's something called twisting...if you haven't heard of it here's an explanation :)

Quote:

Twisting refers to the player's ability to actively switch between different auras, blessings, or debuffs while in or out of combat.  If a player developed and mastered this ability, certain classes became much more powerful than by using just one aura at a time.

To those unfamiliar with the twisting aspect of Dark Age of Camelot, below is a short video of a random player enjoying the paladin class while twisting chants during battles:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=ZrD2JtNpUw4

Explanation:
At the time of the video's recording, it appears there are four different chant types:  Armor, Endurance, Battle, Heal.
(1) The armor factor blessing, which appears as a hauberk or chest plate, decreases the amount of physical damage a player and his/her group receives in combat. (2) The endurance blessing, which appears as a green circle around the player, regenerates endurance so the player can sprint and use special combat styles.  In Dark Age of Camelot, endurance is to what World of Warcraft's rage (warrior) and energy (rogue) uses during combat for special assaults and abilities. (3) The battle fervor blessing, which appears as a sword 'knighting' the player, increases the physical damage s/he deals during combat.  (4) The healing blessing, which appears as a silver/golden chalice pouring upon the player's head, heals the player during the course of remaining in combat.

Now that you understand the process and gifts of the blessings, imagine using all of the available chants during one combat cycle.  If you place them in a row on your hotbar and press 1,2,3,4 then you would instantly have all four auras available to you for a short duration.  However, auras 1,2, and 3 will leave you after the 'duration' expires while aura 4 remains on your character.  To exploit this advantage, we would identify the cool down of your auras before figuring out how to twist correctly during combat.  In DAoC, the auras, if I remember correctly, are five seconds before becoming available again for usage.  So, on the sixth second we would be allowed to cycle through our auras again.  Let's pretend we use 1 (armor), 2 (endurance), 3(battle), and 4(heal) during combat.  Once the five second cool down process ends, the first original chant becomes available again.  However, before you are given the chance to cycle through again, your last chant gives you a 'double effect' because it ticks twice before the cycle becomes available.

Technically speaking, all talented paladins in Dark Age of Camelot would twist during combat and use the healing blessing last while in PvE content(or RvR).  Hopefully, this mechanic will remain the same in Warhammer Online and I hope my explanation assisted the understanding of some players unfamiliar with DAoC.

I personally loved my 50 paladin and enjoyed the twisting aspect of the class.  It really gives players who enjoy difficult tasks while playing or multitasking players a perfect chance at an enjoyable class.  I personally never macro'd twisting - Unlike in the above video, the auras for resistances (five or six total) and the new auras (speed enhancement) were not displayed in the video up to the point of where I stopped watching.  It's lot of fun!

Yeah, it's gonna be cute when all the 13 year old Chosens named "Darkshadowlord" quit by level 10 because they have zero pvp experience/skill.

Hilarious really.

Althought I'd wish that they stayed till 40... extra cannon fodder is always nice

I'm hoping more of the nubs will role DoK's with their "xXDraculaXx" or "Vampirelord" names and make it to 40 since melee healers at the front lines are more likely to get focus fired.

Ork Choppa - fits my playstyle, Warstomp.

Maurauder, Black Ork or Squig Herder would be other choices for me.

And maybe just maybe a Witch Hunter cause of their melee healing, reminds me of bloodthirst. But I don't wanna be a mangina again... my two WoW warriors were females Tauren and NE.

DoK because this is my first game with a melee healer and the mechanic sounds like it will take alot of skill to master... so there won't be 10 year olds playing the class in the higher tiers.

I'm also considering a Sorc since I enjoy high damage RDPS but the whole "blow yourself up" thing is what made me choose the DoK over it.

Hunter, Druid and Warlock were at one time , and look what happened.

Pipe will be a Squig Herder... Mostly because I think it's going to be an extremely annoying class to fight and if the order prick I'm attacking isn't saying "ah fuck it's Pipe again" then I'm not doing my job.

I really liked playing a hybrid disc/holy priest in wow so my second character will be something along that line. Honestly I'm not all studied up on the classes and profesions yet. I'll have it figured by go time though.
